She says this compressed work that might normally take weeks or months into hours or days, and she provocatively concludes that AI can increase a mathematician's research productivity dramatically. She also cites recent examples of AI-assisted work on open mathematical problems to argue that this is no longer speculative: even without major improvements beyond current systems, AI is already changing how mathematical research is conducted.
