Summary

The Trolley Problem is a famous thought experiment in ethics that explores how people make difficult moral decisions when every possible choice has negative consequences. It presents a situation where a runaway trolley is heading toward several people, and you must decide whether to take an action—such as pulling a lever—that saves more lives but directly causes harm to someone else. 

The dilemma has been widely discussed in philosophy, psychology, and even artificial intelligence because it reveals the conflict between different ideas of morality: whether the outcome matters most or whether certain actions are wrong regardless of the result.
